Jessica Youngblood Kirkpatrick is a mother, attorney, writer, and strategic advisor. Her legal career began more than two decades ago in legal aid, providing counsel to unhoused individuals and families navigating crisis. Grounded in that work, her experience in the legal profession spans 20 years and includes legal, policy, and political advisory roles focused on helping individuals and institutions navigate complexity and make decisions in moments of consequence.

Licensed to practice law in Iowa, Illinois, and California, Jessica has built her career across jurisdictions and sectors, bringing together experience from varied professional paths that have sharpened her judgment and expanded her perspective. Her work reflects sustained engagement with systems of power, responsibility, and change, and a clear understanding of how those systems shape real outcomes for people and communities.

She is deeply committed to social justice, representation, and women-centered leadership, and has been active in professional organizations in Chicago, Los Angeles, and the Quad Cities with women and women of color at the center.
